BASIC FUNCTION:

This person will be responsible for managing a network of medical device distributors hired to promote and sell NuOrtho products. The Area Sales Manager will lead and manage distributors in selling our products to existing and potential customers by educating them on the value proposition of our products within their practice and providing the tools to help them build their practices with our products. It will be paramount to drive utilization of our products with all customers.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate and expand sales opportunities by implementing NuOrtho’s overall domestic sales strategy;
  • Create relationships with existing and potential customers, manage sales process via meetings, continual telephone, mail, and email communications;
  • Must have the ability and willingness to call on multiple hospital departments including surgery, nursing, materials management, administration, and hospital marketing;
  • Provide business analyses for decisions with senior management and in-office personnel;
  • Communicate directly with internal departments coordinating customer opportunities with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Service departments to aid in expediting the completion of new business;
  • Attend and support regional and national medical conferences on an “as needed” basis.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

  • (1) Sales via agreed-upon quota with existing and new customers;
  • (2) Generating new business sales (a) leads, (b) follow-up opportunities, and (c) revenue;
  • (3) Effective communication with our customers to include demonstrating the benefits of our products as well as their proper utilization;
  • (4) Track and measure performance statistics relating to sales and marketing activities within a given territory;
  • (5) The ability to coordinate efforts and rally support with all resources leading to higher sales successes;
  • (6) Manage and track all sales activities and keep management informed of all potential opportunities and successes to help shorten the sales cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience and Other Requirements

  • (1) Bachelor’s Degree;
  • (2) Orthopedic sales experience, with extensive experience in orthopedic operating rooms;
  • (3) Orthopedic experience in the knee/articular cartilage a plus
  • (4) Experience in a sales with exposure to direct outside sales with customers;
  • (5) Understanding and experience with medical device distributors;
  • (6) Completion of professional sales training or certification a plus;
  • (7) Computer skills (specifically spreadsheets, word processing, and databases)
